Why Wood Refinishing?
Sometimes you get the opportunity to be part of a larger project where wood refinishing is just an element of that process. England has some of the most beautiful and historic buildings. Therefore, we were grateful to be asked to help restore the Parquet floors within the Parkinson Building Refurbishment project within Leeds University. This was an extensive project to refurb the entire building.
The parquet floors within this building are steeped in history. Some may have been of the opinion that they should have been removed for something more “commercial” or something that is less intensive to upkeep. It is our opinion that should this have been the case that the building would have lost a huge amount of character.
Parquet flooring is undeniably characterful. Therefore, it was a pleasure to restore the hallway floors as we did. The team got to work ensuring the process was planned meticulously. On larger projects, a few things are really important:
- It is important that you have a plan in place for how the sanding process will happen
- All team members should have their role so that they can work together to complete the work in a timely fashion
- Safety is really important; therefore, plans should be put in place to ensure that safety is considered in every element of the project
- Confidence. Why? It is important that you bring skill and expertise to floor sanding projects such as these. You need to be confident in the machinery that you use, the people completing the work and the materials and products used to finish the floor. The time taken to complete the wood restoration work would be fruitless if the wood finish products are not appropriate or looked uneven.
Every element must be carefully considered in order to deliver exceptional results. We are commercial floor sanders serving Lancashire and all surrounding areas. If you would like to request more information or book a quotation, please call 0800 852 7177.
